Pilot training in Wichita (USA/Kansas)

The Hawker Beechcraft Premier 1A shimmers in the winter sun. Our pilot Christoph Sillack carefully checks the aircraft before take-off. His passengers would like to fly from Berlin Schoenefeld to Finland for a skiing trip. Christoph knows exactly what he needs to look out for – on ground and in the air – because his license proves he knows how to handle this type of aircraft.

In order to get the type rating for our Premier 1A, a special training has to be completed. First, our pilots have to memorize all technical theory and practice flight situations on a simulator in Wichita, Kansas. Afterwards they have to complete a practical training with six take-offs and landings before they can fly under supervision for at least 40 legs with their supervision captain. To complete their training, they have to pass a final line check with one of the examiners that have been approved by the German authorities.

Our pilots’ education and training is one of the most important issues for PEAK AIR. Regular training and safety reviews are the key to maintain our high safety and quality standards.
